The Mackinaw Wool Double Coat features Filson's renowned Mackinaw Wool and a layer of waxed cotton Tin Cloth on the shoulders and arms for ultimate protection against rain and snow. This combination also provides superior breathability through the torso.

Originally designed for Pacific Northwest foresters in 1914, the Double Coat is based on our iconic Mackinaw Wool Cruiser. The spacious back pocket, designed for timber cruisers, is now perfect for storing gloves and hats. The tightly-woven 24-oz. Mackinaw Wool twill is exceptionally durable, wind-resistant, and warm. This 100% wool is comfortable in a wide range of weather conditions, making it the top choice over any other material. Evolved from the waxed canvas used for jackets and pants for loggers and hunters in the 1920s, Filson Tin Cloth is renowned for its tight weave and special treatments that enhance durability and water resistance; sourced from Britain's oldest and finest mills. Made from 24-oz. 100% wool reinforced with Tin Cloth

CARE

Do not wash or dry clean – brush or wipe clean with a damp rag. Rewax as needed to maintain maximum water resistance. To prevent the transfer of oils, we recommend avoiding prolonged contact between Filson oil finish goods and light-colored fabrics, especially in warm weather.
