Not settled with making recycled goods, they are a certified B-corp, give 1% of all sales to environmental causes and offset the entire carbon footprint of their company.
Rumpl was born after its founders, on a surf and ski expedition, were sleeping in a van one night up a deserted dirt road. They woke to freezing cold sub-zero temperatures with a car that wouldn’t start, and miles away from the nearest town, with no phone signal. Putting off the impossibly long walk into town they decided to bundle up their sleeping bags and drink whiskey until someone else showed up to save the day.
After a long cold night, the discussion turned to how the sleeping bags seemed to perform better and be comfier than what was on their beds at home. The materials and quality were superior, and the pair came to the decision to make a sleeping bag blanket, and Rumpl was born.
They felt that the materials used in blankets hadn’t been modified in decades and that the innovations happening across other categories such as apparel, outdoor gear and activewear weren’t being utilized. Rumpl changed that, with using water-repellent materials and the likes of synthetic down to create contemporary and high-quality product.
